Picture with Canon D60 Camera
Picture with Kodak easy share camera
How much difference does a light box and a 1300 dollar camera make to your pictures Here is some samples with as of yet no training on the new camera.  I had to lower the resolution of all my pictures to use on etsy and art fire.  My first files were way too big.  Even with no training and only a simple light box set up I have much better pictures close ups are beautiful and clear and no more fuzzy pictures.  Still a bit dark so I do still lighten them up but other than that they don't need any touch up.  Now I am busy working on entering new images for all my listings and taking tons of pictures of things that have not been listed.  Probably won't list everything as I do lots of bazaars.  I am praying right now about what way I am going to go this year  Spend my Saturdays at the Farmers Market from April until December or roam here and there to different venues.  It is getting that time of year when I will need to start turning in applications and dishing out money.  My hubby is fine with either but it is still a stretch to give up Saturdays and sleeping in and to be working hard all week to make new product if I am sucessful.  Then of course I have to get in so it is still just a thought and a dream.  Trying to pick my way and come up with some awsome pictures for a portfolio to send out to prospective bazaars.  Most of the bazaars were a dead end with no one making much of anything I'm talking $5-10 so spending all day and paying someone to do it.  So trying to move up to better venues and not such small cheap ones.  I did do really well at 2 of the 4 venues making $260 at one and $150 at the other and my home venue made $170 but I still have tons of stuff to sell and didn't do many events last year.  Here's to a new year and to making a profit this year.

My bead soup partner received her beads from me in the mail today

Here is a link to her post.

La Doña Boutique: I received the ingredients for my BEAD SOUP in the mail today.

It wasn't easy picking out beads my bead collection suddenly seemed so boring. But I did have one fantastic sterling silver toggle clasp that hadn't found a home yet and a cool blue and silver pendant that was waiting to be made into jewelry so I took those 2 elements and went through my bead collection adding what I thought would go well and some extras for a little challenge. how will she use them all. Coming soon.

I've included one of her pictures so you can see what I sent her. I put it all in a fabulous little bag I got from NEED to BEad the local bead store.
As always I anticipate getting a package in the mail.

New pictures and the rough drafts of my new jewelry line

i took 360 pictures and only got through 2 trays of jewelry. I was looking at my hand stamped jewelry and decided that I need to add a little bling to make it stand out a little more. That is the project for tommorow.

What are your suggestions for inprovements on these items. On of these will probably be my give away prize next week. What would you want yours to say?

My little earrings did not come out well at all on camera. These are just my rough ideas for this item. I think I will knot the 2 sides of the pendant and probably use a smaller pendant. Exact stamping is also a must. Which requires getting in the groove and having no distractions. I've learned that stamping is not easy and it takes lots of practice not to make mistakes. The little image stamps are way harder than letters as they don't take with just one wack you have to rotate the stamp but not move it to get a good image. These also still need a good shine which will help tremendously These are in aluminum so tommorow i will graduate to sterling silver. And I just got 20 new 1 inch ss blanks in so time for some fun and exact work. So we will see how I can improve on these tommorow.

A beautiful treasury with one of my favorite bracelets

Etsy Treasury

Two for Tuesday New items new shops to visit every Tuesday.

Here are some great items I hearted this week.

These tiny expanses are even prettier in person. Rachel Teannalach is a Local artist and a part of the Idaho Indiworks Etsy Street team that I am on. Next time I see her remind me to pick one of these little treasures for my office. It's small enough that I can find room for it.
Visit her store and show her some love

Another Great shop is Red4short.etsy.com

Isn't this the cutest idea. I have some kids and husband that just love to get gifts. This looks like a great idea for valentines or even better just because. You take the 5 little note cards and write something special.

Here is another really cute one in her shop.

I just love the colors and creativity on this one. And the saying is beautiful.

My week

This has been an interesting week full of highs and lows. I have been selling off all that extra stuff cluttering up my office and so started a supply shop on etsy www.butterflyjewelrysupp.com and have listed a bunch of stuff. I have gotten more sales then I did last year in my jewelry shop in 12 days. But that is how it goes so easy to sell jewelry supplies on a site full of jewelry makers and crafters, not so easy to sell jewelry with the other litterally million pieces of jewelry on there. So I have been happily driving over to the post office on a regular basis. The second awsome thing was my friend Robin who I met at church who makes gemstone necklaces brought her son Jesse over to get supplied for making wire wrapped jewelry. He descovered wire wrapping and discovered that it was very relaxing. Anyways they bought a full jewelry tool kit, too a bunch of my destash wire and The big thing. They like the way I wrapped some opals that Robin had given me to wrap. Now she wants me to wrap a big box of opals at $20 a piece.
I wish I had pictures but with no camera I can't show you. That leads to the other awsome news my new much improved Canon EOS D60 arrived- along with a memory card, a tripod- and lights to go with my previously purchased table top camera tent. So now I am waiting on my new Lens which is slated to arrive monday. Then I hope to be able to figure it out enough to take some jewelry, supplies, and studio pictures.

Other big news I have joined several on line jewelry groups and the first one is a bead soup party hosted by Lori Anderson.blogspot.com over on her blog. I will be sending off some very pretty beads to a lucky person and they will be sending me back some pretty beads and we will be creating some jewelry with them then posting our results on line.

And I have posted a blog regularly for one week now. I am really trying to stretch myself to do new thing this year. I will post more great news in my next post. Coming up photos of the beginnings of my new jewelry line.
